Geraldine Jane (Bayless) Arney “Jerrie”, 89, of Delphi, passed away peacefully at Baptist Health Hospital in Elizabethtown Kentucky, on Friday, November 3, 2023, at 11:30 pm,  surrounded by her loving family. Jerrie was born to the late Ray and Ruby (Trotter) Bayless in Cincinnati, Ohio, on August 6, 1934. On October 3, 1955, Jerrie married the love of her life, Robert Arney in Cincinnati, who survives.

Jerrie graduated from Norwood High School in Cincinnati. After graduation she was a homemaker where she supported and helped raise her family.

Jerrie was an active member of the Ascension Lutheran Church in Saginaw, Michigan, and St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Delphi. Jerrie enjoyed volunteering as a Boy and Girl Scout leader. Jerrie was recognized for over 1000 hours of volunteer work, which she loved to log at Delphi’s Wah-ba- shik-a’s Nature Center, The Farm at Prophetstown, and at Celery Bog. She also enjoyed playing the piano at Church.

In her free time, Jerrie was an accomplished Master Gardener that loved to curate gardens in her home. Jerrie loved to travel on family vacations where she reveled in creating lasting memories with each generation of the family. Alongside her loving husband Robert, they explored much of the world together and enjoyed making memories together globetrotting. Jerrie had a passion for playing the piano for others, and she found sheer joy in gardening and creating themed flower gardens on her estate. Jerrie’s favorite time was being surrounded by her family.

Jerrie was the matriarch of the family and was always a beacon of love and warmth. Her devotion to Jesus was the true cornerstone of her existence. Her devotion to the Lord helped connect and solidify many people’s faith with the Lord.
