Lyndell L. Hawkins, 98, of Delphi, died August 27, 2021, at her daughter's home in Delphi, IN. She was born December 28, 1922 in Pekin, IN, to the late Marcus and Ella Criswell. Her marriage was to Robert R. Hawkins, in Burnettsville, IN, on October 15, 1949, and he preceded her in death on March 30, 2006. She was a 1940 graduate of Burnettsville High School. She was a homemaker and secretary at Hillcrest Elementary in Delphi, IN, and worked at and retired from Sharp-Mitchell Abstract in Lafayette, IN. She was a member of the Americus Union Church. She enjoyed cooking, baking special pies for her loved ones and organizing family gatherings. She taught herself to play the harmonica and took pleasure in reciting poetry. She was a life-time member of the Wabash and Erie Canal. Surviving: 2 daughters—Deborah (Clyde) Wolf of Delphi, IN and Luann (Rob) Wiedenmann of Fayetteville, AR; Daughter-in-law, Gloria (Terry) Berryman of Nashville, IN; Sisters-in-law, Geneva Paul of Lafayette, IN, and Caroline Criswell of Benson, AZ, 18 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her son, Terry E. Berryman; 6 brothers—Herman, Bernie, Glen, Mason, Boyd, and Gale, 4 sisters; Faye Johnson, Beth Owen, Ivadell Gingrich, and Joye Shaffer. Services: Friends may call on September 3 from 10:30 a.m. until the noon funeral service at Davidson Funeral Home. Funeral services there at noon on September 3, 2021, Pastor Larry Williams officiating. Burial at Masonic Cemetery in Delphi, IN.
