Paul Dickerson

Paul Francis Dickerson, 85, of Delphi, passed away peacefully at 1:55 pm on Thursday, August 31, 2023, at Franciscan Health in Lafayette. Paul was born to the late John and Ada Beatrice McAhren, on May 20, 1938, in Butlerville, Indiana. On August 6, 1960, Paul married the love of his life Alice “Kay” (Waldrop) Dickerson, who preceded him in death.

Paul graduated from Sugar Creek High School in Pickard Indiana. Paul enlisted in the Military at a young age and went on to serve in the US Navy from 1958-1971. Paul and Kay were stationed in Norfolk, VA. After retiring from the Navy, Paul and Kay moved to Michigan where his wife was born. After serving in the Navy, Paul held several different jobs and eventually retired from Tenneco, where he was an electrical engineer.

Surviving Paul include his daughters; Ann Michelle (Dickerson) Greeley, Anita Beatrice (Christopher) Rhodes, Annette Cathlene (Rick) Aper, Sharon Kay Zachary, Sandra Dee (Jeff) Kibler, grandchildren; Rashonda Roller, Aliceshia Slain, Joshua Dickerson, Jonathan Hartlerode, Phillp Zech, Joseph Hartlerode, Justin Snyder, Adam Zech, Jordan Aper and Corey Aper, 23 great grandchildren, and 5 great- great grandchildren.

A memorial service celebrating the life of Paul will be held at the local VFW, post 9383, located at 304 N. Market Street, Delphi, at 12:30 pm, on Saturday, October 7, 2023. Friends may visit with the family from 11:30 until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Masonic Cemetery in Delphi, where military rites will be performed. The family will be hosting a dinner after the memorial service for friends and family to gather at the VFW. Memorial contributions may be made in Paul’s honor to the local VFW post 9383.
